Madrid Barajas Airport Strike
​Back again Prosegur airport security workers.
30 November, 2017 Announced yesterday Prosegur airport security workers cancel strike November 28 - 11 December 2107 and replaced it with some despicable strike dates.
Workers will strike between December 22 - 8 January, 2018. Hours:-5:30am - 6:30am, 10:30am - 11:30am, 2pm - 3pm, 7pm - 8pm. (Lunch/dinner can cause more delays). You must get to Barajas a lot earlier than normal, the lines to get through security will be long. Keep your hand luggage to a minimum. You don't want to miss your flight.
Other information Talks are on going, you never know might get cancelled. Prosegur airport security company goes to court over illegal strike calls 11 December, 2017.

Madrid airport Prosegur airport security workers have given a deadline for strike action October 15, 2017. We will keep an eye on this. All parties involved agree nothing will be done till after Barcelona dispute is done with.

TRACK REPAIRS - LINE 8
To and from Madrid - Barajas Adolfo Suarez Airport and Nuevos Ministerios central madrid.
Track work will start January 26, 2017. 16.5 Kilometers of track, workers will work 24 hours, 7 days a week to get work completed and opened by April 18.
Route will be covered by a bus service.

Spanish Baggage Handlers Strike
June 28, 2015 3,500 workers who work for Globalia who own Groundforce baggage handling company will strike starting from July 4, 2015.
Passengers flying on these airlines will be effected:-Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinias, Aeromexico, Etihad Airways, Korean Air, Saudia, Air France - KLM, Alitalia, Lot, and Lufthansa.
These airports will be effected. Hopefully it’s not yours.

Barcelona El Prat:-Every Friday 8am - 10am and 7pm - 9pm
Bilbao:- Every Monday 11am - 1pm and 5pm - 7pm
Madrid:-Every Sunday Noon- 2pm and 8pm - 10pm
Seville:- Every Thursday Noon - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm

Canary Islands 
Las Palmas:- Every Wednesday 9am - 11am and 4pm - 6pm
North Tenerife:- Every Monday 1pm - 5pm
South Tenerife:- Every Friday 10am - Noon and 4pm - 6pm

Ryanair has a baggage handlers strike going on right now at Madrid Airport. Although Ryanair announce that workers are now back to work, airline is still on alert. Ryanair adjusted to this strike by giving passengers a choice of landing in another airport, change flight to a different day or fly with no luggage. Perhaps your airline will follow a similar routine or use managers as handlers or bring in scabs.

Times 10 am - Noon and 6 - 8 pm (local times)
Monday 8 June 2014 
Wednesday 10 June 2014
Friday 12 June and Sunday 14 June.
Strike is over the punishment of 61 controllers who went on strike in 2010.
(This union's last strike was 26 years ago, represent 90% of controllers)
